Then jumped out Parsley inviting everyone to the feast and then appeared Gypsy and Grandma with a lame horse. In the end, appeared Missis Pancake with its suite. To make the honest people believe that she was really the very Missis Pancake, she brought a "passport" issued at the market last year. The "document" described the signs of thirty brothers, forty grandmothers of her granddaughter, three mothers of daughter, as Missis Pancake was known popularly. The suite also told about each day of Pancake week.
The competition for the best pancake filling is traditional. That day the jury tried pancakes with meat, jam, dried apricots, ham, fish and a kind of "Russian national sushi" - pancake with rice and grapes. Then competent experts chose three winners and identified special categories:
1st place - Maria Tutenkova, "Spring Flowers";
2nd place - Anastasia Tutarova "Cabbage pancakes";
3d place - Ksenia Sergeeva and Evgeniy Sergeev "Meat pancakes".
Winter farewell and pancake week
On the 17th of March the Palace of Pioneers said goodbye to the winter. As a tradition the children's group "Folk Studio" Springs" has met the spring with dances, songs and Russian folk entertainment.
The winter farewell began with the songs in the lobby of the Palace.
