History of the Palace

The palace became the second home not for one generation of boys and girls. And its history started in February 28, 1940 in the Educational Center in out-of-school hours, which was located in a small two-storied building on the Kommuna St.
The first Head of the House of Pioneers was Neonila Adolfovna Weiner. In 1940 there were 24 groups with 300 students. During the Second World War the building of the House of Pioneer was turned over to the military medics and the groups moved to schools of the city. Students gave concerts in hospitals, helped soldier families.

 

After the war in 1949 students of the groups again gathered together in one building - in the building of art gallery, occupying several rooms. They didn’t have enough space, but the teaching staff did everything possible to ensure that children were interested in. In the early 50's embroidery, tourism and local history sections, ball-room dancing were very popular. At the same time literary society started its work under the guidance of children's author , a member of the Writers' Union Lydia Alexandrovna Preobragenskaya.

 

In the mid 50's there were 6,500 students in 180 groups, 18 clubs. It was time to find a new building for the House of Pioneers. Thanks to the Education Department Head Olga Ivanovna Strelova The House of Pioneers got the keys of the today Palace in September 1956. And the House of Pioneers was renamed the Palace of Pioneers.

 

In 60s, the Palace was rapidly growing - new teams, new activities were opened then. These years were marked by the birth of Scientific Student Society where high school students learn the basics of natural science, engineering and humanities with university scientists.

In November 2, 1967 the Palace was named after Nadejda Konstantinovna Krupskaya for the active work of the staff and on the basis of local historical materials about the relationship of Krupskaya with the Southern Urals. In the same year, the Palace of Pioneers won the All-Union school institutions festival.

By the end of the 60s there were about 11,000 children.

 

Two new buildings of the Palace were opened in 1978, that allowed teachers and pupils to achieve the best results in creativity, research and sport.

In 1982, the Palace of Pioneers was honored the title - "The institution of high culture."
In the years:
• The Children's Art Gallery was opened;
• The Palace and the school № 109 became the initiator of the city action "The family fate in the life of the country";
• International Friendship Club "Colourful ties" organized the campaign "Our country is the USSR," "Week of the young hero - anti-fascist”;
• the Palace held the first competition of the club "Startin ';
• The school of Young Astronauts continued to work on the basis of Chelyabinsk Higher Military Aviation School of navigators.

 

In 1993 the Palace opened new groups and teams, that offered training in comprehensive programs:
- For high school students: The Business School, School of technical creativity, Studio of Theatre, School of lawyers and others;
- For preschool children from 3 years they opened the early development studio called "Magpie";
- Children of primary school could choose "School of Health";
- For first grade pupils (a joint project with the school № 1) the Palace expanded the compulsory school program and offered classes at school called "The Good. The Beauty. The Truth ": fine art, choreography, the natural world, chess.

 

The Psychologists of the Palace together with the teachers organized special groups to work with talented children within the association "Lyceum" The Ecology of creativity. "

Club "Lego" became very popular among the younger students of the Palace.

 

In the year of the 60th anniversary of the Palace, in 2000, the Palace was thanked officially by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin: "For merits in training, development and improvement of the creative potential of the younger generation."
By the 70th anniversary of the Palace of Pioneers the city administration presented the Palace with the award "Recognition" for fruitful long-term development activities in additional education.

Like many years ago now the Palace continues to develop the talents of our children.

Now the Palace gives to its employees Alexander Zelmanovich Iogolevich Award for the achievements related to teaching.

The award was established to develop the educational potential of the Palace, to encourage and promote the professional growth of teachers, development of teaching art and design, conservation and enhancement of educational traditions of the Palace, to preserve the memory of an outstanding educator Alexander Iogolevich.

Alexander Zelmanovich Iogolevich Award

Alexander Zelmanovich Iogolevich Award is given to employees of Chelyabinsk Palace of Pioneers and Pupils named after Krupskaya N.K. for achievements related to teaching.
 The award was established to develop the educational potential of the Palace, to encourage and promote the professional growth of teachers, development of teaching art and design, conservation and enhancement of educational traditions of the Palace, to preserve the memory of an outstanding educator Alexander Iogolevich.
Alexander Zelmanovich Iogolevich (1934-1997) - professor, the Head of the education theory and methodology Department in Chelyabinsk State Pedagogical Institute (Chelyabinsk State Pedagogical University), a prominent social active member, Honored Worker of Higher Education, Professor Emeritus of CSPU, founder of the All-Russian educational movement "Scientists – for students” (Student Scientific Society) and All-Russia Educational team Movement, the author of numerous published works on education, the Head of the Palace (1962-1969.). He was awarded the Order of Friendship, the gold and silver medals of the All-Union Exhibition of Achievements of National Economy. Working at the Palace, Alexander Iogolevich rallied teaching and children's groups of the Palace, united them with one general idea.
In recognition of his services in the organization of the scientific student society and support of gifted children The Head of Chelyabinsk Tarasov V.M. decided to open a memorial plaque in memory of Alexander Zelmanovich Iogolevich in May 2003 at the Palace.
 In 2006 the Palace and the teaching staff decided to set up Alexander Zelmanovich Iogolevich Award for the teachers who have achieved good results.

  Since 2011 Alexander Zelmanovich Iogolevich Award is given annually in one or more nominations:
• «I believe in you" - to support young teachers whose professional work has received recognition by colleagues, pupils and parents;
• «Ahead of Time" - for realised educational ideas and projects that laid the foundation of perspective palace development, and gave rise to new teaching traditions;
 • «Committed to childhood" - for years of work on the development of children's talents, as well as on support of children in difficult situations.

The founders of the award are:

• Federal State Educational Institution of Higher Professional Education Chelyabinsk State Pedagogical University."
