Eight teams of young inventors and designers from different creative groups of Chelyabinsk gathered to compete with each other in the most interesting and productive inventions.
They started with the theoretical work. All the children were offered to solve ten technical problems.
Not all the participants remembered what vernier callipers is, or by what parts scales work. Then children were divided in four areas of competition.
In "Architecture" the participants had to assemble their own standing tower model, whose measurement was evaluated in 3 planes, from the set of parts (limited quantity of 3х80х80mm foam plates and pointed pins, toothpicks).
Participants had to make a cart from Lego constructor parts that should drive the maximum distance by speeding on an inclined flat surface in the contest "The movement of the cart on an inclined flat surface". The participant had two attempts. The best result went in the credit.
Airframe manufacturing from paper was the most laborious task. It was important to adjust the model carefully before starting to achieve the maximum flight distance. Participants were given little time to train, and two record-attempts.
In other contest participants had to make any model of the greatest volume from providing details. The aim was to sink it in a basin to displace the largest amount of water. The judges evaluated the volume of the model, the quality of manufacturing and displaced water.
Within two hours children managed not just to create and make a variety of models, but to demonstrate their ability and quality. The results of the participants consisted of points received for exhibition, competition and technical problem salvations.
All participants received certificates and "smart" gifts.
