Seven of ten teams will meet this March in the semifinals of the Russian basketball Championship. According to the coach of the team from Nizhnevartovsk Alexey Glukhikh Christmas basketball tournament was very important. “We got more practice and experience and we saw the level of other teams” - he said.
"The participants had no clear leaders... You never know who will win.", - noticed Tatiana Kucherova, the coach of Kurgan. So it was in the final game between teams from Izhevsk and Berezniki. During the game the winner was changing from one team to another. In the end, with a score of 32:35 the team from Izhevsk won. It should be noted that they came to this tournament for the first time. The best player of the Christmas basketball tournament was Yelizaveta Goryunova from Udmurtia.
In addition to the basketball the participants also did some sightseeing. Young basketball players saw New Musical "Vovka in 3D kingdom." On the third day of the tournament they took part in the competitive program conducted in five categories and visited the Museum of Chelyabinsk. The winners received gifts - soft toys.
It was the sixth Christmas tournament. While it is not included in the all-Russian competition calendar, however, the junior coaches hope that in the future it will be the official tournament, which will expand its geography.
