The students were demonstrated by the candidate of psychological sciences Elena Agadullina and Ekaterina Orel what is a blind spot and how it can deceive their own attention at the training "Our perception of the world and visual illusions". The specialists began the seminar by asking the students "What do you associate with psychology?" The answers were very different; however, they didn’t reflect the right understanding of this science. "Sometimes it’s very difficult for children to understand what is really involved in psychology, so we decided to show the phenomena we work with, - says Elena Agadullina. - We had to show something visual, interesting, and real. The fact is that no one ever thinks about the fact that psychologists work with cognitive processes. Pupils do not associate psychology with the work of the brain. In their view, there is no connection between how we think and how we behave. And we try to fight with such a commonplace notion of psychology". The training with the students included interesting exercises demonstrating how our attention depends on what kind of work the brain gives.
