More than 120 teams of young designers presented to the jury robots of all shapes, sizes, and types. The competitions were held in the main and creative categories in three age groups. Since the World competition in 2013 will be held in Indonesia in Jakarta, the tasks for all participants of this regional round were connected with culture, history and geography of this state. For example, the task for the middle age group was to make a robot that must carry out preparatory work on the restoration of the temple complex of Borobudur. The main task of the plastic employee was to take off the "dome" without damaging the "statue of Buddha" in a fast and careful way. For the good work the jury gave the maximum 100 points.
Also in the main category the robots determined the color of bricks and transported them to special containers. The name of this task was very beautiful - "Batik". The programmed wards of senior pupils were looking for so-called "lizard eggs" in the task "Komodo". Komodo - the name of one of the Indonesian islands, on which you can find the largest reptiles on the Earth - lizards.
In the main categories of the competition the jury evaluated the size of the robots and its exact actions, but in the creative category there were almost no restrictions. The teams presented unusual, modern and useful projects in robotics. For example, everybody was impressed by the doll as tall as a man named Hope. This robot was able to interact with people. It expressed emotions, followed the movement, made decisions, and even could help where it will be asked. Another robot was designed for environmental patrol. His professional mission is to take and analyze the water samples from lakes, rivers, etc. And there were also robots-utilizers, observers, photographers and many other great robots.
The most difficult task for the jury was to choose the best robots in creative category. Every project was unique. All robots really can help people.
